‘Allotment Cafe’ includes interior and exterior allotments owned by Southampton citizens. Part of the harvest is used by the café. While allotment owners are away, plants and vegetables can be taken care of by café staff members and visitors. Monitoring system indicates condition of the plants on displays and provides instructions facilitating planting process. An opportunity to take care of plants collectively unites people around Southampton and encourage social interaction.
